First Financial Group Senior Vice President Selected as Charitable Planning Specialist - Bradley Troy selected by Philanthropy International as CPS in Mid-Atlantic Region

BALTIMORE, Maryland – May 7, 2007 - First Financial Group (FFG), an agency of The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America and complete financial services firm located in Baltimore, MD, Lancaster, PA and Wilkes-Barre, PA, is pleased to announce that Bradley Troy, Senior Vice President, has been selected by Philanthropy International as a Charitable Planning Specialist (CPS) in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

Philanthropy International is a unique community foundation that has a national mission to provide planned giving support resources to charities.  A CPS partners with Philanthropy International to work with donors and their advisors to provide consultation to generate charitable gifts that allow the donor to preserve their wealth for the benefit of heirs while converting tax dollars into a benefit for their favorite charities.  Philanthropy International is a non-profit firm that works with charities to build an outsourced approach toward increasing planned giving from their charitable donor base.  Troy, with FFG since 1993, “believes whole-heartedly in the mission of Philanthropy International and looks forward to working in the philanthropic arena”.

First Financial Group Recognized at LAMP Convention.

In March of 2007, FFG will be recognized at the LAMP Convention in Toronto Canada, held by General Agents and Managers Association, an International Industry Association as a Winner of The Master Agency Award and a Platinum Firm. This very prestigious recognition of success and excellence is only received by a small number of firms nationally and internationally in the Financial Services Industry. Dennis Eckels became the new President, CEO and owner of First Financial Group on January 1, 2006.

After 10 years with First Financial Group and guiding the firm’s expansion into Pennsylavania, Dennis Eckels took over the helm from Quincy Crawford, the founder and outgoing president. Denny has 30 years of financial services experience and was hand picked to fill this vacancy. Denny and Quincy have worked together on this transition for the past 5 years.

First Financial Group representatives began providing the Living Balance Sheet to clients in October of 2005.

The Living Balance Sheet, a client aggregation tool designed by eMoney, Inc., allows FFG representatives to provide clients a personalized Web Page that brings all of their account information to one site daily. The site is protected by 3 levels of security and allows not only for aggregation of accounts from most of the clients accounts. It also provides a data storage facility for client documents and personal items. Clients can store video, audio or data in their personal “Vault” and access the materials any where they can get on the Internet. The Living Balance Sheet is provided to FFG clients free of charge.

First Financial Group founder Quincy M. Crawford will be inducted into the GAMA Hall of Fame in April 2006.

Quincy Crawford founded the firm in 1977 and has since grown it to one of the larger privately owned financial services companies in the United States. His vision for the firm, renowned work ethic and focus, have earned him the greatest honor for General Agents in the financial services industry.
